Shipibo Manta Cloth

SKU: EALTSHI0016 Category:

This hand painted tapestry is an authentic piece of handmade art. This tapestry was designed and painted using natural tint of huito by Carlos from the Shipibo community. Carlos’s indigenous tribe lives in the Amazon Rainforest of Peru. The Shipibo see and hear the geometric patterns in nature and reproduce the designs featured in this unique textile. The Shipibo believe the patterns in their manta cloth are healing on the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical level. Each design carries its own special meaning and functions as a musical score called an ‘Icaro’ that can be sung. This one-of-a-kind piece was designed after a vision during an ayahuasca ceremony. The energy of the Kambo frog connects us with the spirit of the jaguar, mother ayahuasca, chiric sanango, our heart and the third eye. Most designs are visions the Shipibo have during ayahuasca.
