Description

The Indigenous peoples who live in the Amazon rainforest have been using plants for their healing properties for centuries. There are several plants that are considered, among many shamans or curanderos, to be Teachers or Master Plants.

People who begin to follow a path to reconnect with their inner selves follow a diet using different plants. These plants are referred to as master or teacher plants. When you drink the tea during a diet (dieta), the spirit of the plant provides teachings to the person directly, without the intervention of a shaman or curandero.

Dieting with a master or teacher plant connects the person with the spirit of the plant. During the diet one acquires the plants teachings and reconnects the person with the spiritual world. The diet (dieta) is a very personal spiritual process, it is a purification process that leads the person to remember where they came from. It also shows them the way to reach a natural state of union with their soul and the universe.

Diets require a time of solitude, silence and contact with nature. During the diet (dieta) the person drinks two servings of tea each day. Curanderos recommend eating simple food avoiding meat, salt, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and spicy food.

Many people who have participated in master plant diets in South America report that they have had significant and positive changes in their lives. They report that the plant spirits guided them through dreams, intuition and reconnected them with their essence, spirit, and the universe.

Following a diet with master plants is considered a form of a spiritual retreat in the Amazon rainforest. During the experience a person does not have modern day distractions, such as watching television, news, and social media. Refraining from these distractions allows the person to listen to the spirit of the plant.
